  Apathy ... I doubt that. But that's a good thing. You're too young to be corrupt already .... I'd give it 'til 16 at least.

  Good luck. The fact that you're thinking for yourself and questioning things is a very good sign.

  Gee ... I wish there was an internet when I was 15 , moping my way through field service in my cheap polyester suit, praying that I wouldn't run into some cutie from school. I did once, and almost had a stroke.

  the other day i had an experience that made me want to seek out more information about the jehovah?s witnesses, and this forum was one of the first things i found on the internet.

  i apologize, in advance, if this is not the proper place for this:.

  i am posting this as a plea to the jehovah?s witnesses to please stop harassing the general public.

  When I was growing up, I remember a common practice among the Jehovah?s Witnesses was to bring along a mentally handicapped person, in order to get sympathy from the people they were harassing. Are you still allowed to take advantage of the handicapped?

  Now that I think about it, there were several folks in my KH who were a little challenged. It's understandable how they were sucked in ... but as for the rest of us .... hmmm

  alien apocolypse that is... watched bruce campbells new movie on sci fi tonight.. it was hilarious.. all that trouble to kill the bugs and really, all they needed was a big can of raid!.

  I have to add .... Sci-Fi channel movies are notoriously bad. A can't think of one of their original movies that I loved.

  i used to dread being called upon to pray

  yeah, me too. hated it. i always got mumble-mouthed when I had to pray.

  once, on a bible-study ... I completely froze mid-prayer. it might have had something to do with the 'bloom of youth' and the guy we were studying with . . . he was extremely sexy and all through the study I had impure thoughts.

  as for the question .... i just worked the mics. thought that was cool though.

  It this great land of ours founded on wholesome Christian traditions like religious freedom and slavery , we keep own bibles in one hand and our shotguns in the other.

  i remember awhile back many said they enjoyed the fictional book "the celestian prophecy" by james redfield.

  well they are making a movie that has been in production for some time now and should be released some time this year.

  if you consume all of that time with worldly reading, radio entertainment, television, etc., and thinking on earthly things, you are wasting time that can be used to build up a protective barrier against the darts of the enemy.. .

  This statement had to be tongue in cheek. They couldn't type that with a straight face, I'm sure.

  And this whole issue is clearly one that will not stand in today's era of cable and satellite TV. If I was a kid today, I'd rather deal with Jehovah's wrath than give up my HBO ....

  just got my memorial invite.

  the only thing new about this year, is my knowledge ... due mostly from finding this site.

  i normally take the invite from my mom, tuck it away to hit the trash along with those mags she leaves all time.

  You guys have brought up some powerful points. My mom's pre-witness personality? Sheeesh . I have no idea what that is ... or rather, was. All my life she's been one. Believe it or not, we are a lot closer than when I walked away twenty years ago.

  I've weighed the pros and cons, with your help, and decided she's better off floating on her own fantasy bubble ... and as scary as it is for me to watch her up there, seeing her go splat would be much more disturbing.

  Instead of taking away her dream, why don't you help her replace it with a better one?
